Holotype whereabouts unknown ♀ (possibly in BMNH), off New Zealand — "Challenger" Station 168 [Stebbing (1906: 130) states that 1100 fathoms originally cited as the depth at the type locality is erroneous] [40°28'S 177°43'E]
Comment: was originally described from a single female from off New Zealand. The specimens from Australia were never illustrated and the male was lost.Type locality references:
