Species Gamasellus concinus (Womersley, 1942)

Miscellaneous Literature Names

Introduction

Womersley (1942) described this species as Digamasellus concina. Later (Womersley, 1956), he stated that the spelling concina had been a lapsus calami, and that he had intended concinna. At the same time he corrected the gender of the name, to make it concinnus. However, the original spelling concina cannot be considered as incorrect, since it occurs five times in the 1942 paper, and there is no evidence in the original paper that this is anything other than what was intended. The original spelling is therefore here restored, and the emendation to concinnus is considered as unjustified.
