Comment: Guinot (1976) considered that Actaea scabra Odhner, 1925, was a new name based on a misidentified record of Cancer scaber Fabricius, 1798, by H. Milne Edwards (1834) (as Xantho scaber), and that that specimen is thus the holotype. In the Australian Museum there are two specimens from Holbourn Island, N QLD, Australia, that were examined by Odhner as part of his description, and are arguably syntypes. Alternatively, Guinot's action could be inferred to be a lectotype designation.
