   Platybrachys stillatus Bergroth, 1907 by original designation.

Introduction

This genus contains a single species which was previously placed in the hold-all genus Platybrachys Stål. The single species is associated with arid and semi-arid parts of Western Australia and the Northern Territory. The etymology of Fletcherobrachys is given by Constant (2006) as "Name formed by the juxtaposition of the words Fletcher, in honour of Dr. Murray J. Fletcher (ASCT), the Homoptera specialist whose great help is here acknowledged, and brachys (Greek word meaning “short”) which is a common ending of the names of the genera among the family Eurybrachidae. Gender arbitrarily feminine, following the use in the family."

Diagnosis

Medium sized, dark coloured. Differs from all other Australian genera by the following combination of characters: vertex more than 4 times broader than long; clavus closed; hind wings partly white; apical process on median tibiae of females. (Constant 2006)
