Ben-Dov, Y. 1991. On some described and a new species of Middle-Eastern mealybugs (Homoptera: Coccoidea: Pseudococcidae). Israel Journal of Entomology 24: 5–15 indicated that this species was previously misindentified in Israel as F. virgata.
