Holotype SAMA ♂ (Evans states that the type ♂ is in SAM and the species was described from "a long series of males and females" from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria but no specific details of the type data were provided), unknown: "Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria'.

Introduction
This species, widespread in eastern Australia and also recorded from Papua New Guinea, is distinctively coloured with a pale pronotum contrasting with an otherwise black colour.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: gregarious, myrmecophilous, phloem feeder (associated flora: Eucalyptus dalrympleana Maiden, 1920 [MYRTACEAE] White Gum).
Diagnosis
Vertex of head and pronotum bronzy brown; eyes dull ochraceous; face and body beneath black; legs dark castaneous; scutellum and tegmina shining black, the latter with a small cluster of greyish white spots near apex of costal area; vertex of head roundly, a little subangularly produced, thickly punctate; pronotum transversely, a little obliquely striate, with two small dark central foveae on anterior margin; scutellum finely punctate on basal half, after which it is suddenly depressed to apex and is finely transversely striate; posterior tibiae shortly coarsely spinose. Long., incl. tegm., 7 mm (Distant 1917).
