Introduction
Zanol et al. (2020) state that this name has been applied to any "very large specimen of Eunice provided that they had dark colored acicula and most chaetigers bearing branchiae with many filaments". As such records of this species from Australia may represent a number of different Eunice species (see also Salazar-Vallejo et al., 2011).
