Genus Eilema Hübner, [1819]

Introduction

Edwards (1996: 282) noted that Eilema Hübner, [1819] was the genus used for these species by Turner (1940). They were not dealt with by Birket-Smith (1965) and probably do not belong in Eilema Hübner. They are retained here until the Asian and Australian species in this and related genera are thoroughly revised. Holloway (2001) tentatively included Aedoea Turner, 1899 as a junior subjective synonym, but it has been retained here as a separate genus (q.v.).
