Diagnosis

Column up to 200mm long and 15mm wide, light sienna colour with white nemathybomes. Divisions of column distinct. Capitulum thin walled, translucent purple to white, mesenteries within clearly visible in life; scapulus thin walled, lacking nemathybomes and cuticle, scapus thick walled, cuticle easily removed, with numerous small nemathybomes scattered irregularly over its length becoming most numerous towards physa, physa thin walled, lacking nemathybomes or terminal pore but having cinclides which are mostly endodermal evaginations; extodermal suckers or tenaculi occasionally present. Tentacles up to 20, in two cycles (8 + 12); long, slender, tapered. Tentacles either magenta-pink with thin purple line running from white tip to disc or light-green with thin orange link with white to cream oral disc. Mouth raised on cone. Microcnemes extremely small, do not extend below capitilum. Macrocnemes fertile, with well developed diffuse retractor and parietal muscles. Separate sexes.
