Species Ectopatria plinthina (Hampson, 1909)
- Omphaletis plinthina Hampson, G.F. 1909. Catalogue of the Lepidoptera Phalaenae in the British Museum. Catalogue of the Noctuidae in the Collection of the British Museum. London : British Museum (Natural History) Vol. 8 xiv 583 pp., 1 folded page. [382, pl. 131, fig. 2].
Type data:
Holotype whereabouts unknown (Poole (1989: 320) states the holotype to be deposited in the ANIC, which is not the case; while the whereabouts of the holotype are unknown, a record of 'plinthina Turner' in the manuscript registry of Lower's specimens (copy in ANIC) indicates that Lower had seen a specimen identified as plinthina, incorrectly attributing the name to Turner, who would have provided the specimen to Hampson (Hampson states in the original description 'Caradrina plinthina, Turner, ined.', but no such description by Turner exists); probably, Lower had seen a specimen identified as such in the SAMA, which is likely to have been the holotype), Roebourne, WA.
