Introduction
Echotrida tropica is distinguished from sympatric rhytidids by the combination of small size, relatively narrow umbilicus and cancellate sculpture. It is highly likely that each of the mountain-top populations mentioned may be a separate species.

Litter-dwelling, montane rainforest, under logs.
Diagnosis
Shell small, pale yellow, subdiscoidal with a low spire; body whorl large and expansive, shell surface covered in strong closely spaced, continuous spiral grooves intersected by fine growth lines giving a cancellate appearance; umbilicus relatively narrow and deep, V-shaped; diameter 7mm.
