Introduction

Echotrida is readily distinguished from other eastern Australian rhytidids by the small size of the shell and the prominent all-over spiral grooves. Pseudechotrida from the Border Ranges of NE New South Wales and SE Queensland, and Saladelos from NE Queensland also have prominent incised spiral grooves, but only on the upper surface of the shell.
