Type species:
Helix strangeoides Cox, 1864 by original designation.
Introduction
Echotrida is readily distinguished from other eastern Australian rhytidids by the small size of the shell and the prominent all-over spiral grooves. Pseudechotrida from the Border Ranges of NE New South Wales and SE Queensland, and Saladelos from NE Queensland also have prominent incised spiral grooves, but only on the upper surface of the shell.

Diagnosis
Shell small to medium in size, subdiscoidal with flat to low-domed spire; protoconch with incised spiral grooves on the latter part, teleoconch sculpture of strong continuous incised spiral grooves on both upper and lower shell surfaces; umbilicus wide, V-shaped. Colour yellow.
