Diagnosis

Carapace subquadrate, dorsally convex. Orbits totally closed; antennae positioned some distance from orbits and antennules, flagellum inserted in prominent cleft at external edge of frontal margin. Anterolateral margins spinose, without well-marked lobes or teeth. Endostomial ridges distinct, reaching anterior border of buccal cavity. Third maxilliped merus entire along outer margin. Chelipeds unequal, weakly dissimilar; major chela with basal crushing molariform tooth; smaller cheliped without noticeably elongate fingers. Thoracic sternum narrow, never prominently widened. Male abdomen with all segments free. Male genital openings coxal; female genital openings sternal. Male first gonopod stout, straight to weakly curved. Second gonopod as long as first; distal part distinctly shorter than subdistal part; distalmost part does not narrow suddenly to become very slender.
