Indian Ocean, introduced to Cocos-Keeling Ils 1890–1895 but extinct soon after 1906—records in 1958 from West Is. erroneous.

Aerial, arboreal, closed forest, diurnal, frugivorous, sedentary, volant.

Extra Ecological Information

Randomly dispersed, seasonal breeder, arboreal frui- eater in crowns of fruit-bearing rainforest trees on interior plateau of Christmas Is., now protected and moderately abundant.
