COLUMBIDAE: Carpophaga lepida Cassin, 1855 [as Globicera rubricera Bonaparte, 1854]

COLUMBIDAE: Globicera pacifica queenslandica Mathews, 1914 [as Globicera pacifica pacifica (Gmelin, 1789).] — Mathews, G.M. 1927. Systema Avium Australasianarum. A systematic list of the birds of the Australasian region. London : British Ornithologists' Union Pt 1 iv 426 pp. [44, 45]

For review of the single Australian records of these two south-west Pacific imperial-pigeons, Ducula rubricera (Bonaparte, 1854) and D. pacifica (Gmelin, 1789), see Mathews, G.M. (1914); Mathews, G.M. (1919: 414, pl. 366); Kershaw, J.A. (1919); Kinghorn, J.R. (1925); Greenway, J.C. (1978). Ducula pacifica (Gmelin, 1789) is maintained as validly recorded for Australia by RAOU Checklist Committee, Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union (1926) and it is treated as a visitor by Mayr, E. & Serventy, D.L. (1944). Nevertheless, it is excluded here and by Condon, H.T. (1975).
