Diagnosis

A campylocytherinid genus characterised by size medium to large, shape elongate-subquadrate; ornamentation scattered pits or reticulations. Margins usually denticulate antero- and posteroventrally. In dorsal view, outline of the valves is abruptly truncate at the rear (like a spearhead). Inner lamellae broad anteriorly and posteriorly, narrow ventrally; radial pore canals long; normal pore canals simple; hinge amphidont. Terminal segment of antennula elongate. Exopod on antenna 3-segmented. Mandibula with elongate distal segment on palp; penultimate segment with 3 long feathered ventral setae; epipod with 2 long and 1 short seta. Female body ending in short, annulate bristles; hemipenis with broadly triangular anterobasal part.
