Introduction

This odd little beast is flightless with curiously angulate tegmina which are brown and punctate with some vague transverse striping. The type specimen was collected in moss on Mt Wanungara in the McPherson Ranges of SE Queensland and specimens have been collected from other mountainous regions of that state.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: moss-feeder.

 

Diagnosis

General coloration brown, the tegmen with a transverse whitish band posteriorly. Length, wingless ♂, 3.4 mm (Evans 1966).
