Diagnosis

Frons with black hairs medianly and silver pruinescence in lateral margins. Flagellum onion-shaped. Hairs on face black. Proboscis about 0.3 x length of fore tibia. Wings distinctive, broad, smoky-grey blade; i-r cross-vein absent, spur on R4 present, cells cup and a1 very narrow; halter knob yellow. Integumental colour of male legs brown; female legs yellow with some black on dorsal half of hind tibia and tarsi brown. Integumental colour of abdomen black with narrow, apical yellow bands on tergitels 2 or 2 and 3. Body length 6-8 mm. Genitalia not examined.
