Diagnosis
Frons entirely covered in silver pruinescence; short black hairs on median two-thirds. Flagellum onion-shaped. Hairs on face black. Proboscis about 0.3 x length of fore tibia. Wings hyaline; without i-r cross-vein and spur on R4, cells cup and a1 narrow, posterior margin of anal cell slightly convex, vein A1 reaching margin of wing just beyond level of apex of cell bm. Halter knob dark brown. Integumental colour of legs mostly dark brown-black, proximal half of fore and mid tibiae light brown. Integumental colour of abdomen mostly black; narrow, apical yellow bands on tergites 2 and 3 or 2-4 .
