Argus Skate
- Raja polyommata Ogilby, J.D. 1910. On some new fishes from the Queensland coast. Endeavour Series No. 1 23: 85-139 [originally intended for publication in Proc. R. Soc. Qld] [86] [derived from the Greek poly = many + omma = eye + new latin (NL) ata, making the word an adjective, meaning 'many eyed'].

Lectotype AM I.10904, 38 miles northeast of North Reef, off Rockhampton, QLD.
