Extra Distribution Information

Formerly distributed over nearly 70% of the continent (at the time of European settlement) but now absent from all states except WA where it is restricted to the coastal regions of the SW corner; extra-limital in Papua New Guinea (subspecies Dasyurus geoffroii spartacus Van Dyck, 1988)
