Compiler and date details

23 November 2010 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

Species of Dardus are all short squat insects with dark coloured tegmina, frequently with a white spot on the tegmen and red venter. The most common and widespread is D. abbreviatus which is found on wattles. The genus is in need of revision since most of the species are unidentifiable without reference to the original type material. There are six species currently recognised in the genus, all endemic to Australia.
