Subfamily Daldorphiinae Ng & Rodriguez, 1986

Diagnosis

Carapace triangular; surface of carapace heavily granulate or eroded; lateral edges of carapace not clypeiform, more than half of ambulatory legs visible from dorsal view. Basal antennal article very large, reaching from three-quarters to almost entire length of basal antennular segment, filling or almost completely filling orbital hiatus. Buccal cavity subrectangular, not spout-like. Merus of third maxilliped quadrate to subquadrate; exopod positioned adjacent to endopod, clearly visible from frontal view. Chelipeds long, chelae often very stout. Sutures between thoracic sternites 4/5 and 5/6 distinctly interrupted medially; sutures for remaining sternites complete. Lateral margins of male abdominal segments 3–6 subparallel, with segments appearing subrectangular. Male first gonopod stout, straight to slightly bent; second gonopod more than half length of, or longer than first, distal segment variable in length.
