Introduction
Grygier (1987) diagnosed the family and recognised two subfamilies and three genera (two with junior synonyms). Members of the subfamily Ulophysematinae Grygier, 1987 are endoparasites of irregular echinoids, but they have been yet recorded from Australia. The others, of subfamily Dendrogastrinae, are endoparasites of asteroids.
