Diagnosis

Carapace transversely oval to subhexagonal, dorsally convex; anterolateral margins short, with closed fissures, appearing entire; front extremely broad, much broader than posterior border, truncate, deflexed. Orbits rounded, not closed; outer edge equal to greatest width of carapace; placed dorso-posteriorly such that infraorbital margin clearly visible dorsally; eyes large, completely visible in dorsal view. Antennae positioned some distance from orbits and frontal margin. Chelipeds unequal, rather stout, fingers short; right chela without special gastropod cutting tooth. Walking legs short. Male second gonopod with distal part longer than subdistal part, suddenly becoming very slender along terminal section.
