Diagnosis

Elongate-ovate carapace, often distinctly subrectangular. Widest posteriorly. Anterior end usually evenly rounded, posterior end more angular. Surface ornamented with strong ridges, anteromarginal ridge in most cases present. Right valve overlaps left one.
