Diagnosis

Carapace subcircular or oval, not much broader than long; surface flat, without distinct regions, naked, more or less granular; lateral margins convex, weakly dentate, antero- and posterolateral margins not clearly distinguishable. Front about half greatest breadth of carapace. Antennules fold obliquely. Chelipeds very unequal and dissimilar in both sexes. Larger cheliped with a very short fixed finger; dactyl convex, shorter than width of palm. Smaller cheliped with both fingers similar in shape, more or less conical, becoming thin apically; in contact throughout length; dactyl as long as width of palm. Male abdomen with five segments. Symbiotic with coral.
