Subfamily Cylindroleberidinae Müller, 1906

Diagnosis

Carapace in lateral view generally elongate or slightly tumid; incisure narrow, slitlike; upper margin of incisure overlapping lower margin; projecting caudal process not present; outer surface of carapace without ornamentation; adult males with vertical row of hairs near posterior end. First antenna: in female 1st segment without bristles; 2nd segment with 1 subterminal dorsal bristle; 3rd segment with up to 8 dorsal bristles and with 1 or no ventral bristles; 4th segment with 1 dorsal and 1 or 2 ventral bristles; 5th segment with stout ventral sensory bristle; 6th segment with 1 fairly long medial bristle; 7th segment with clawlike a-bristle, stout b-bristle and longer c-bristle; 8th segment with d- to g-bristles. Second antenna: endopod 3-segmented, in female 2nd and 3rd segments fused. Mandibula: exopod always present. Maxilla: 2nd endopodal segment with 1 or 2 terminal bristles. Fifth limb: dorsal margin of comb without bristles. Sixth limb: limb without posterior projection. Seventh limb: with 6–28 bristles. Furca: each lamella with 7–10 claws. Upper lip: consisting of 2 hirsute lobes anterior to mouth and a hirsute lateral flap on each side of mouth.
