Species Cryptocephalus fraterculus Chapuis, 1875
- Cryptocephalus fraterculus Chapuis, F. 1875. Diagnoses de Cryptocéphalides inédits appartenant a la faune de l'Australie. Annales de la Société Entomologique de Belgique (Comptes-rendus) 18: 90-102.
Introduction
C. fraterculus was originally described by Chapuis 1875 and was erroneously recorded as occurring in Fiji. Subsequent examination of type material of C. fraterculus by Bryant & Gressit 1957 and C. A. M. Reid (see Reid & Beatson 2013) places this species as Australian. Other known specimens of the Australian Cryptocephalus genus-group are awaiting description.
