Introduction
Smith-Vaniz (2001) suggested that the species might be a synonym of Owstonia totomiensis. Liao et al. (2009) listed the two as synonyms, based only on examination of holotypes. As a result, the species has been identified in museum collections under both names in Australia. We follow Smith-Vaniz & Johnson (2016) in recognising this species as distinct.
