Taxonomic Decision for Synonymy
- Crandall, K.A. & De Grave, S. 2017. An updated classification of the freshwater crayfishes (Decapoda: Astacidea) of the world, with a complete species list. Journal of Crustacean Biology 37(5): 615–653 [23]
Introduction
As far as the synonymy of Cherax davisi Clark, 1941 and C. esculus Riek, 1956, Davie (2002) pointed out that both taxa are arguably junior subjective synonyms of C. destructor' (see also Sokol 1988; Austin 1996; Austin et al. 2003 for supporting analyses).
