Type genus:
Chalcophora Serville in Dejean, 1833 [by indication].
Introduction
This group was recognized as one of Lacordaire's (1857) fundamental lineages as Chalcophorides vrais (Group II) and has traditionally been accorded subfamily status. A more contemporary view (Holynski 1993) supports only tribal status in the nominate subfamily.
