Syntype(s) BMNH ♂ (Specimen marked as "Type" in the BMNH collection postdates Walker's description. There are three Tasmanian specimens which predate 1854 in the collection which are probable syntypes (pers. comm. E.D. Edwards)), Tasmania. - Cluaca struthias Meyrick, E. 1886. Revision of Australian Lepidoptera. I. Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales 2-n.s. 1(3): 687-802 [715].
