Comment: The diagnostic presence or absence of a corona for the genus cannot be confirmed in this species as the apical tips of the valvae are missing from the lectotype. Instead the diagnostic character of absence of large claw-like cornuti at the distal end of the vesica was used to refer this species to Thoracolopha.Subsequent designation references:
