Clark, 1916, is herein transferred to the genus Milteliphaster with which it shows a similar facies with the type species Milteliphaster woodmasoni Alcock, 1893, including specifically the characters of long, slender, flexible rays (R/r=›3:1), marginal plates box-like, more or less flattened, not markedly convex, usually in excess of 12 along each side of the rays compared with the concept accepted herein of the genus Calliaster, a stout form with rigid arms (R/r=‹3:1), marginal plates very prominent, markedly convex, usually less than 12 along each side of the ray. On this basis also, the species Calliaster regenerator Döderlein, 1922, is herein transferred to Milteliphaster)
