Ecological Descriptors
Adult: ectoparasitic, marine.
Diagnosis
This species is easily distinguishable by the unusual shape of its carapace and particularly heavy sclerotization. One might speculate on the reason for the development of this shape. It appears to be associated with the existence of the antero-lateral flat fields and with the particularly strong lateral ribs.
