The female of C. omissus differs from C. triabdominalis in possessing a one-segmented abdomen, a smaller body length, a relatively wider genital complex, a shorter sternal furca box, a patch of small spines on the basal segment of the first legs, and no obvious blunt spine on the second segment of the second endopod.
The male differs from the new species in possessing a sixth leg and a bifid as opposed to a four-tined claw of the second antenna, two small patches of spines on the ventral surface of the abdomen, and a much shorter sternal furca box and longer tines.
