Introduction

Species of the family Clausocalanidae are characteristically small (<1 mm) and are abundant in epipelagic oceanic waters, with fewer species found in coastal waters and the surf zone. There are seven genera and 37 species. See Boxshall & Halsey (2004: 91) for more details as well as a key to the genera.
