Holotype BMNH ♂ (coll.: v.1904, F.P. Dodd), Kuranda, Queensland.
Introduction
This species is only known from the wet tropics of North Queensland.

All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
This species can be distinguished from B. polydoros by the colouring (yellow to brownish yellow; head heavily marked with brown including a spot on vertex near to each eye; an annulose mark each side of midline of prontum and basal triangles of scutellum, brown), the elongate processes of the male segment X and the very long ovipositor (Webb 1983).
