  Type species:

   Buprestis octoguttata Linnaeus, 1758 by subsequent designation, see International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature 1994. Opinion 1784. Buprestis Linnaeus, 1758 and Chrysobothris Eschscholtz, 1829 (Insecta, Coleoptera): conserved by the designation of Buprestis octoguttata Linnaeus, 1758 as the type species of Buprestis, and Chrysobothris and Dicerca Eschscholtz, 1829: conserved as the correct original spellings. Melbourne : CSIRO Publishing, Australia. pp. XII 491 +4 colour pls (synonymised under Dicerca crassicollis LeConte, 1857 by ; the holotype, in ANIC(MMUS) and described in [441], is likely either a one-time introduction or simply a mislabelled specimen)
