Diagnosis
Boloceroididae with thin column which in its lower part is provided with simple, spheroidal or compound vesicles, sessile or stalked, and containing microbasic amastigophores. Upper part of column, capitulum, smooth. A weak longitudinal musculature in the column as well as in the actinopharynx. Tentacles long, with stinging spots, their longitudinal muscles ectodermal. Number of perfect mesenteries variable about 4-20 pairs probably owing to asexual reproduction from the base. Cnidom: spirocysts, basitrichs, microbasic p-mastigophores, microbasic amastigophores.
