Introduction

This plain brown species was described from the far north coastal regions of the Northern Territory but is also known from the Central Kimberley region of Western Australia. It was named in honour of Tom Weir of ANIC, Canberra, who was one of the collectors of the holotype and who has contributed much valuable leafhopper and other material to scientific collections in Australia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Pale olive brown. Face pale brown. Crown and thorax pale olive brown. Tegmen vitreous, apically smoky; veins dark brown. Length ♂ 6.2 mm. Distinguished from other species in the genus by the shape of the aedeagus (Evans 1981).
