Introduction
Based on male genitalic characters Holloway (2001) reinstated Brunia Moore, 1878 from synonymy with the miscellaneous assemblage of taxa currently placed in Eilema Hübner, [1819]. Australian species placed in the genus Manulea Wallengren, 1863 belong in this genus. Holloway (2001) included dorsalis Walker in Brunia Moore, 1878. Examination of male genitalia of replana (Lewin, 1805) indicates that this species should also be placed here. Manulea Wallengren, 1863 (type species Lithosia gilveola Ochsenheimer, 1810) is currently a junior subjective synonym of Eilema Hübner, [1819].
