Diagnosis

The diagnostic feature of B. tetrici is the morphology of the posterior margin of its trunk. No other Brachiella, or a member of a related genus, resembles the present species in this respect. Among somewhat similar species is B. exigua Brian, 1906; it differs, however, from the present species by much smaller genital and posterior processes, length of arms, and shape of trunk.
An interesting feature, which, as far as the author is aware, has not been previously recorded in the genus Brachiella, is the presence of the transverse 'weal' on the dorsal aspect of the cephalothorax.
