Introduction

This species was described from the Sydney basin of New South Wales by Knight (1983) who noted that 22 paratypes were in BMNH although he provided no details of their localities within New South Wales.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder (associated flora: Acacia decurrens Willd. [FABACEAE] Black Wattle; Pultenaea villosa Willd. [FABACEAE] Hairy Bush-Pea; Hakea sericea Schrader & Wendland [PROTEACEAE]).

 

Diagnosis

Forewings with widely spaced small dark brown spots, sometimes extending onto posterolateral corners of pronotum. Vertex flat. Male pygophore processes slender, directed posteriorly, curving slightly dorsoposteriorly distally to variable degree, apex acute. Styles with apical process expanded over distal half, tapering abruptly to narrow apical portion and terminating in acute, dorsally hooked apex. Aedeagus simple; shaft directed dorsally, curving slightly anteriorly; gonopore extending to just basad of midlength; anterior incision extending to just basad of gonopore. Length ♂ 4.56–5.04 mm (Knight 1983).
