Introduction

This species, described from the wet tropics of North Queensland, was regarded as a nomen dubium by Knight (1983) due to the lack of a male in the type series.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Allied to the last [Batracomorphus pelias (Kirkaldy)], but narrowed and more elongate; vertex distinctly, though obtusely, angulatelv rotundate in front; in the middle more than one-half longer than at eyes which extend laterally very slightly beyond the pronotum. Frons nearly as convex as in the type. There are 3 transverse veins standing on the cubital. Female: last segment not produced acuminately laterally. Length: 5 mm. (Kirkaldy 1906).
