Holotype AM ♂ (coll.: xii.1969, J. Brooks), Cairns, Queensland.
Introduction
The original collection locality given for this species was Kuranda, on the Atherton Tableland above Cairns, North Queensland but this was corrected to Cairns by Knight (1983). Specimens from the J.W. Evans collection are, however, labelled from Kuranda and were collected xii.1966 by J.G. Brooks. The species differs from most other species by being brown with pale tegmen veins, rather than green. The females are distinctly larger than the males.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
Pronotum with irregular dark brown markings along anterior margin. Vertex flattened. Male pygophore processes short, membranous, finger-like, directed posteriorly. Subgenital plaes dorsoventrally compressed; a multiseriate row of reclined setae along distal half of dorsal surface to just before apex, with minute setae only over rest of plate. Styles with apical process elongate, slender, or approximately uniform width throughout length except for slight constriction at midlength, tapering distally to acute upturned apex. Aedeagus short, robust, without basal apodeme; shaft short, wide and broadly rounded apically in lateral aspect, laterally compressed, directed dorsally and recurved anterodorsally; gonopore extending approximately one third length of shaft; anterior incision extending to just distad of midlength of shaft. Length ♂ 5.75 mm (Knight 1983), ♀ 8 mm (Evans 1972).
