Type data:
Holotype BPBM 9182 ♂ (coll.: 28.x.1962, 130 m, J. & M. Sedlacek), Gaulim, Gazelle Peninsula, New Britain.
Introduction
This species is mainly known from New Britain but Webb (1983) recorded it from the far north of both the Northern Territory and Queensland.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
This species is closely related to B. xantho (Kirkaldy) but the male subgenital plate has a short process at the midpoint of the ventral margin and the aedeagus is also different in shape (Webb 1983).
