Holotype AM ♂ (coll.: iv.1969, J. Brooks), Cairns, Queensland.
Introduction
This species is only known from the type locality near Cairns in the wet tropics of North Queensland.

All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
This species can be distinguished by the brown markings on the face and pronotum and by the very broad dorsal arm of the aedeagus in lateral aspect, with the more lateral branch of the dorsoanterior processes long (Webb 1983).
