Type data:
Holotype AM ♂ (coll.: 8.xii.1961, D.K. McAlpine), Finch Hatton Gorge, Queensland.
Introduction
This species is superficially similar to several other species in the genus which are also honey-brown with darker costal margin of the tegmen, differing in features of the male genitalia. The species is only known from the central Mackay Coast bioregion of Queensland.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
While resembling other species in the genus by having a U-shaped aedeagus, A. hattonensis differs in having an only slightly divided pygophore (Evans 1981).
